We believe financial barriers should never stand between ambition and a safer world. Our scholarship programme funds professional safety and sustainability qualifications for those who need it most.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, please ensure you meet all of the following criteria. Applications that do not satisfy every requirement will not be progressed.

UK right-to-study requirement: In accordance with UK Home Office guidance, SafeStart Academy is required to verify that all scholarship recipients are lawfully present in the United Kingdom and have the right to undertake the relevant course of study or training. Documentary evidence will be requested from shortlisted applicants prior to any award being confirmed.

Lawful UK Presence

Applicants must be legally present in the United Kingdom at the time of application and throughout the duration of their course. This includes British citizens, settled or pre-settled status holders, and those with valid leave to remain.

Valid Passport or Travel Document

Applicants must hold a valid passport or equivalent travel document confirming their identity and nationality. Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide a copy as part of the verification process.

UK Residential Address

Applicants must have a current, verifiable residential address in the United Kingdom. PO Box addresses are not accepted. Proof of address may be requested at the verification stage.

Financial Need

Applicants must demonstrate genuine financial hardship that prevents them from self-funding their chosen course. Supporting evidence may be requested from shortlisted applicants.

Career Commitment

A clear commitment to pursuing a career in health, safety, or environmental management is required. This should be evidenced through your personal statement.

Course Eligibility

Scholarships cover NEBOSH, IOSH, ISEP, and ISO courses offered through SafeStart Academy. Applicants must not be in receipt of equivalent funding from another source for the same course.
